Lis Wessberg (* 1967 ) is a Danish jazz musician ( trombone , also voice, percussion ).

Act

At the beginning of the 1990s, Wessberg belonged to Sophisticated Ladies (together with Christina von Bülow ), but also to the Copenhagen Art Ensemble ; she played several albums with both groups. She has worked with a large number of artists such as Lennart Ginman , Joyce Moreno , Paulinho Braga, Claus Høxbroe, Jan Kaspersen , Katrine Suwalski and the DR Big Band . In 2005 she performed with Fredrik Lundins Overdrive at the JazzFest Berlin . She was part of Marilyn Mazur's band Shamania , with whom she appeared at Jazz Baltica in 2019 and recorded the album of the same name, which was awarded the German Record Critics' Prize. With Amanda Sedgwick and other Scandinavian musicians, she is a member of the Sisters of Jazz.

Wessberg also toured with Ray Charles , Bob Berg , Randy Brecker , Ernie Wilkins Allmost Bigband, Stéphane Belmondo , Duke Jordan and Kid Creole and the Coconuts . She can also be heard on albums by Jazzgruppe 90 , Maria Montell, Josefine Cronholm / Steen Rasmussen, Benjamin Koppel , Fredrik Lundin, Ole Matthiessen and Hanne Boel . According to Tom Lord , she was involved in 15 recordings in the field of jazz between 1991 and 2017.
