This still incomplete list of Afghan writers includes writers who were born on the territory of the State of Afghanistan or who published their works primarily in one of the languages spoken in Afghanistan (mainly Dari or Pashto ). The authors are sorted alphabetically according to their surname, for each author his life data and a keyword for his literary meaning should be given.
