Drinking water treatment in refugee camps around Goma
Flood catastrophe in southern France at the end of 2003: A total of 1,300 THW emergency services fought the floods for about 14 days - with a pumping capacity of around 670 cubic meters per minute.
After the end of the civil war in Liberia , the THW was responsible for the maintenance and repair of the generators in Monrovia from May 2005 to August 2007 as part of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL).
From March 13 to 15, 2011, THW provided assistance with locating and rescuing victims of the Tōhoku earthquake in Japan with 38 helpers from the Rapid Rescue Unit Abroad (SEEBA), three detection dogs and twelve tons of material .
Since 2013, the THW has been responsible for the "WASH" (Water, Sanitary, Hygiene) area in several refugee camps in the autonomous region of Kurdistan in Northern Iraq on behalf of UNICEF and regional agencies (IDP program) .
September 2014: In the case of the Ebola fever epidemic in West Africa, THW, in cooperation with the aid organization Emergency.lu u. a. the UNMEER with help of logistics, the development of communication technology and the supply of drinking water and electricity.
After an explosion in the port of Beirut, the Federal Republic of Germany sends the THW with its SEEBA unit to support the search and rescue of injured persons.
