On the mountainside north of the raft ( location ) |
Ensemble of the former Jewish quarter | The ensemble includes the former Jewish quarter on the mountainside north of the raft. In close proximity to the market, but set off by the steeply sloping terrain, Jews had settled there since 1684. After their property had also been affected by the fire in the market in 1813, similar organizational features were specified for the reconstruction as for the market itself, albeit with restrictions in terms of area and extent. The residential buildings form two-storey eaves side rows, each with half-hipped roofs on the front sides, occasionally equipped with gate entrances, profiled walls and cornices, some of which are no longer entirely original due to modernization. The synagogue is integrated in the middle of the east-west extension. The high rows of gable roofs and their special integration into the landscape result in a unique presentation for the distant view from the entrance to the town on the Neustädter Straße opposite. | E-3-74-121-2 |

In raft ( location ) |
Ensemble town center raft | The Floß market is characterized by an open architectural structure. Apart from the remains of the former cemetery fortifications around the old, now Evangelical-Lutheran parish church, no fortifications can be seen. Most of the development goes back to a systematic new system, which the responsible Neustädter district judge Karl Franz Reisner Freiherr von Lichtenstern ordered after the devastating market fire of 1813: parallel to the course of the river, a wide main thoroughfare was created between this and the raised churchyard, now Freiherr-von-Lichtenstern-Strasse, which is crossed in the middle by a second thoroughfare, Plößberger and Weidener Strasse, and into which Vohenstrausser Strasse joins from the southeast over the wedge-shaped Luitpoldplatz. The side facing the churchyard was kept free from the otherwise continuous two-storey eaves side development so that the market square can expand there as it did before the fire. Two additional cross streets lead from the main street at right angles and at the same distance to the raft. The resulting grid-like blocks are built in such a way that the rows of houses facing the street backwards correspond to a row of farm buildings, which are accessed through narrow farm alleys running parallel to the main street. Even the course of the river was subjected to this linear, rationally thought-out development plan, which, apart from a single arch, was bedded in a completely straight line and thus forms the axis of an upper and lower stream lane development, which, however, was no longer double-sided in the northwest. The consequent adherence to the development plan gave the Markt Floß ensemble an unmistakable character. In contrast, the affiliation of the main arterial roads is more dependent on the location; there are several rows of brick barns on them. | E-3-74-121-1 |

Remarks
- ↑ This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
