Architectural monuments in the districts

Altmaedewitz

In the area of ​​the place, sherds from late Slavic sherds from the 11th / 12th centuries were found. Century found. The current place existed in the Middle Ages, it was first mentioned in 1349 as "Medewitz". Fishermen lived here, and agriculture was practiced when the Oderbruch was drained. In 1830 several farms burned down and in 1838 the village was flooded. Since 1997 it has belonged to the Oderaue community.

Altreetz

People already settled here in the Neolithic Age. In 1994 evidence of a fortification was found to the northwest. Altreetz was mentioned for the first time in 1339. The village was burned down during the Thirty Years War. In 1824 the church, the houses around the village square and other buildings were destroyed by fire. During the reconstruction, the village was rebuilt with a different structure. In the middle of the 19th century, Altreetz became a center for the surrounding villages. In addition to a pharmacy and a doctor, there were craftsmen and traders. In 1892 Altreetz received a station on the Wriezen – Jädickendorf railway line .

Village church The current church is the fourth at this location. The church was consecrated on November 2nd, 1828. It is a rectangular hall building with a tower in the west. Inside there is a pulpit altar from 1848.

Altwustrow

People settled in the area of ​​the place as early as the Early Iron Age . The place was first mentioned in 1450 as "Wustrowe". During the Thirty Years' War the place was set on fire. With the founding of Neuwustrow after the Oder drainage in 1755, the place was renamed Altwustrow. At that time the fishermen became farmers. There were two village fires in 1811 and 1812. After that, the village and the church were rebuilt. Altwustrow has been part of Oderaue since 1997 and thus belongs to the Barnim-Oderbruch office .

Neuküstrinchen

Neuküstrinchen was established as a colonist village from 1755. The houses were built on settlement mounds as a precaution against flooding. Three different types of houses were built, the size depending on the size of the courtyard. The settlers came from Upper Austria, the Electoral Palatinate and Poland. In 1776, 192 people lived in the village. This system of the village is still visible today.

Neureetz

The former villages of Adlig Reetz and Königlich Reetz merged in 1952 to form the municipality of Neureetz. The names of the villages have been preserved in the street names. The two villages were created from 1755 after the Oderbruch had been drained. About 58 families settled in both villages.

Königlich Reetz

Grave of Gustav Schüler's parents in the Königlich Reetz cemetery Gustav Schüler was a German playwright, local poet, elementary school teacher. He grew up in poor conditions in Königlich Reetz No. 23. The parents' tombstone is black with a light field.

The residential building is a single-storey, eaves-standing house with a half-hip roof. The house has six axes, they are of different widths. The entrance is centrally located on the fourth axis from the left. The stable was built in the last third of the 19th century, the drive-through barn in the late 18th century.

Neurüdnitz

Objects from the Iron Age were found in the area of ​​Neurüdnitz. Today's Neurüdnitz emerged from 1754 in the area of ​​Rüdnitz, a district of today's Cedynia . The place developed around the river Schneller Strom. The place was hit by floods several times, including in 1838.

The new course of the river divided the village. In 1754/1755 a bridge was built near the Zollbrücke district. In 1892 the place received a rail connection on the Wriezen – Jädickendorf railway line .

Customs bridge

Zollbrücke was built in the 18th century after the regulation of the Oder. The place was named after a toll bridge over the Oder in 1755. From 1756 there was a dam jug. From 1805 there was a chain ferry that was in operation until the end of 1945. The village's courtyards are from the second half of the 19th century.
