List of monuments in Gliwice

This list includes the monuments, statues, fountains, statues, memorials and sculptures in the public space of the city of Gliwice , which was Gleiwitz in Germany until 1945 .

Some of them have been removed, rearranged, remodeled or even destroyed from their original location over the decades. This is noted under the prefix Status.

The oldest sculptures in the city are the Neptune Fountain on the Ring and the Nepomuk figure on the Trinity Church.

Sculpture by the sculptor Paul Ondrusch . Memorial for 76 children who died in a fire in 1919. On the memorial was the inscription “Let the little children come to me”, removed after 1945.

Design by the sculptor Hans Dietzsch-Sachsenhausen , removed and scrapped by the Poles in 1945.
The Chopin monument now stands on the preserved step substructure .

Monument by the sculptor Hanns Breitenbach . Part of the memorial is the sculpture “The Mourners”. The memorial commemorates around 440 victims (Germans, Russians, Romanians, Serbs, French and Italians) of the First World War .

Design by the architect Wilhelm Heilig . Consecration on the anniversary of the Battle of Leipzig on October 18, 1924. The building was demolished after 1945. On the outer wall was the inscription: "In memory of our fallen". The foundation has been preserved.

Dedication on the left side of the base: “To the Infantry Regiment / Keith (1. O. –S.) No. 22 / in memory / of his 100th anniversary / anniversary ”. The memorial is lost.
