Church of St. Nikolai with furnishings
|
The oldest part of the church comes from the transition from Romanesque to Gothic. The Romanesque building elements can be recognized on the outside by the arched frieze under the roof ridge, the north arch panel on the north side and arched windows that were later converted into Gothic pointed arch windows, with the pointed arches breaking through the round arch frieze. Three bays of the central nave and the two aisles are Romanesque. In the 15th century the church was enlarged in the late Gothic style.

After the construction, a two-wick kerosene lamp was initially used as the light source, which was replaced by a benzene incandescent lamp in 1922. From 1924 the beacon was operated electrically. The tower is still equipped with the original belt lamp, focal length 250 mm from 1924. A HQI-T 400 W halogen discharge lamp has been in use since 1999, producing a brightness of 33104 cd. The nominal range is about 7.4 nm. In the event of a power failure, an emergency power generator is available.
