The aim of the art project is to document biographical details of the people who had their (last) voluntarily chosen residence in Cologne in order to preserve their memory.

The Stolperstein, which was laid on March 1, 2011, is reminiscent of Else Hilbig (née Menko) .

Else Hilbig, a Jew, was the wife of the high school teacher Reinhold Hilbig. In 1939 they had to move their house in Bayenthal, Bernhardstr. 151 sold and moved to the Cologne suburb of Weiß. She was arrested in 1943 and taken to Fort V in Müngersdorf . There their trail is lost.

The stumbling block was laid on the initiative of a group of white citizens.
