The Stolperstein, which was laid on September 11, 2018, reminds of Dr. Reinhard Cahen , born on January 15, 1898 in Cologne.
Reinhard Cahen was the son of the leather wholesaler Sally Cahen and his wife Lina. He lived in the house of the leather wholesaler H. Cahen & Cie. in the Kopernikusstraße 9. On December 7, 1941 he was with the III. Transport in the Riga ghetto deported . Lothringer Strasse 51 (a former “ ghetto house ”) was entered in the transport list as the residential address and “employee” as the occupation. In August 1944 he was taken from Riga to the Stutthof concentration camp and finally to the Buchenwald concentration camp . Reinhard Cahen died on December 13, 1944 in the Wille subcamp ( Rehmsdorf ) of the Buchenwald concentration camp. His detention number was 83056. Only a few days after the laying, the stumbling block was removed by strangers ... On September 25, 2019, the Stolperstein was relocated at the last known residential address Reinhard Cahens in Cologne, Lothringer - / corner Kleingedankstraße. |
