According to two inscription panels above the side portals, the castle, located in the northwest of the market town of Ferschnitz, was built under Reichard Streun von Schwarzenau on the remains of a previous building between 1575 and 1584.

A parish church with a late Gothic long choir (around 1499) and a massive five-storey west tower from the late Renaissance . The high altar is a work by Kaspar Timpf from the years 1757 to 1770 and the organ comes from the workshop of the Mauracher brothers (1931).

The sandstone statue on the forecourt of the rectory was created around 1700 by an artist from Giovanni Giuliani's circle . It shows the Virgin Mary with a metal star nimbus , standing on a globe with a crescent moon and a snake. In 1861 and 1985 the statue was renovated.

The castle was first mentioned in 1367 and dates from the 16th century in its current form. It has the shape of a square courtyard with two round corner towers with tent roofs and a gate tower with a pyramid roof. In the courtyard there are arcades on stump columns and another portico. The remains of a moat have been preserved, and around the castle there is an English-style castle park with outbuildings.

The late Gothic branch church of Innerochsenbach emerged from a hall church that was extended on both sides . The nave dates from the early 16th century, the choir from the 14th century.
