The Gasthof Mariathal once belonged to the Dominican convent Mariathal, which was founded in the 13th century . The structure of the main house dates back at least to the early modern period; the transition to private ownership is documented for 1786. Parts of the masonry and the stone portal still date from the early construction period. Connected to the south is a hotel extension from the 1930s in the local style .
