According to documents, there was a parish in 788, later a branch, and again a parish in 1891. The Gothic church building from 1508 was consecrated in 1520. The interior of the church was baroque in the middle of the 18th century. The high altar from the end of the 18th century shows the altarpiece Marriage of the Virgin Mary painted by Kaspar Waldmann in 1692.

The memorial northeast of the Mühlbichl Chapel was built in 1925/26 according to plans by Fritz Müller and redesigned in 1955/56 and expanded to become a memorial for the fallen and missing of both world wars. Under a baldachin-like architecture stands a monumental cast stone figure of St. Georg fighting the dragon by Karl Severin Unterberger . On the ring-shaped wall around the complex are the names of the fallen in relief letters made of cast iron.

The memorial to the Bavarian writer Ludwig Steub , who lived temporarily in Brixlegg after his retirement, is on the rock face on the way to Mühlbichl. The larger-than-life portrait relief was created in 1898 by Eduard Pfeiffer from Munich based on a portrait bust of Steub by Wilhelm von Rümann .
