List of Portuguese ambassadors in Panama

The list of Portuguese ambassadors in Panama lists the ambassadors of the Republic of Portugal in Panama . The two states have had official diplomatic relations since 1912 at the latest. The Portuguese government appointed the first chargé d'affaires for Panama in 1912 and the Portuguese legation was opened in Panama City on July 10, 1913 . Even Costa Rica , Colombia and Venezuela were among their district. On May 10, 1919, Portugal closed the legation in Panama again.

On March 31, 1958, the two states renewed their diplomatic relations. On March 15, 1966, the Portuguese government decided to open an embassy in Panama, but it was not fully implemented. Only in 2015 did Portugal reopen an embassy in Panama City.

Portugal maintains its representation in the capital Panama City in the Torre Optima office building there ( Avenida Samuel Lewis , corner of Calle 55 Este ).
