The list of Portuguese ambassadors in the Bahamas lists the ambassadors of the Republic of Portugal in the Bahamas . The two states have direct diplomatic relations. On January 5, 1995 , the first Portuguese ambassador to the Bahamas, Portugal's representative with official residence in the US capital Washington , was accredited . Since then, the Bahamas have belonged to the administrative district of the Portuguese embassy in the USA, whose head of mission is double-accredited in the Bahamas .

Portugal has a consulate in Nassau , the capital of the Bahamas .
