List of snow and avalanche research centers

This list gives institutions for snow research and avalanche awareness .

The Snow research as such is a relatively young interdisciplinary geoscientific discipline that the gamut from classic Glaciology (glaciology) on Meteorology (research on snow ) and Hydrology (Hydrology) to the geophysics of mass movements ( avalanches and nivale geomorphology ) and the crystallography ( Shape, transformation and internal mechanics of the snow ). The avalanche awareness was formerly only phenomenological treated and only since the development of modern mainframe computers in the simulation as a basic research practices.
