Liszki is a village in the powiat Krakowski of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of the rural community of the same name with around 17,000 inhabitants.

geography

Liszki is located about 13 km west of Krakow on the Sanka River , a tributary of the Vistula . Geographically, it belongs to the Krakow Highlands.

history

Traces of settlement show that the area was settled in the early days.

In 1257 the parish of St. Nicholas is mentioned. According to the records of the churches, around 2000 people belonged to the parish in 1325. In 1363 Casimir the Great stayed in Liszki.

Between 1954 and 1972 the village belonged to the Gromada Liszki whose administrative seat was also in the village. From 1975 to 1998 Liszki was part of the Kraków Voivodeship .
