The Wolfenbüttel Literature Laboratory (LiLaWo for short) is a writing workshop for the promotion of young writers between the ages of 16 and 21. It is one of the longest-lived and most influential literary workshops for young people in German-speaking countries and has been held annually in Wolfenbüttel since 2001 . Numerous former participants are now firmly established in the literature business.

The team consists of laboratory manager Kathrin Lange , Cornelius Hartz and Friederike Kohn. The event is financed by the Lower Saxony Foundation and organized by the Federal Academy for Cultural Education in Wolfenbüttel .

procedure

From around a hundred applicants, twelve talented writers are selected as scholarship holders. As part of the funding measure, these meet on three weekends a year in Wolfenbüttel and are accommodated in the guest house of the Federal Academy. The work rooms are located in Wolfenbüttel Castle . Writing exercises take place here, your own texts are presented and analyzed and processed in a team. The literature laboratory is headed by Kathrin Lange , Cornelius Hartz and Friedrike Kohn. As part of the meeting, there is also a publication every year with texts from all participants, which is published by the Federal Academy for Cultural Education.

Guest authors

On one of the three weekends, the participants will be accompanied by a well-known author; in the past years these have included the book award winners Lutz Seiler and Ursula Krechel as well as Benjamin Lebert , Doris Gercke , Monika Rinck , Nora Gomringer , Julia Schoch , Michael Lentz , Antje Rávic Strubel , Anne Duden , Regula Venske , Nora Bossong and Tilman Rammstedt .
