Liu Chunhong

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Liu Chunhong ( Chinese  刘春红 , Pinyin Liú Chūnhóng , born January 29, 1985 in Yantai ) is a former Chinese weightlifter in the 69 kg weight class, who competed internationally in 2003 and 2005 in the 75 kg class.

Career

Liu Chunchong comes from Yantai in the Chinese province of Shandong . She started judo as a teenager in the Yantai City Sports School , but switched to weightlifting in 1996 at the age of 13 . The 1.65 m tall athlete qualified for the Shandong provincial selection in 1998 thanks to good performances in the regional area and joined the Chinese national team in 2002. In the same year she was junior world champion (U 20) in the weight class up to 69 kg with a duel of 255 kg (107.5-147.5) and was also used at the women's world championships in Warsaw. There she made three failed attempts while snapping, so that she remained without a duel, but in the individual discipline pushing she reached 147.5 kg and thus won the silver medal.

In 2003 Liu Chunhong started at the Junior World Championship (U 20) in Hermosilo in the weight class up to 75 kg. She reached 260 kg (112.5-147.5) in a duel, but surprisingly had to admit defeat to the Egyptian Nahla R. Mohamed, who came to 262.5 kg (115-147.5). At the 2003 Women's World Championships in Vancouver, she started again in the weight class up to 69 kg and won there with a duel of 270 kg (120-150). She also won the gold medal in the individual disciplines of snatching and pushing. In 2004 she was with a performance of 275 kg (122.5-152.5) in the weight class up to 69 kg Olympic champion before the Hungarian Eszter Krutzler , who reached 262.5 kg (117.5-145).

In 2005 Liu Chunhong became Junior World Champion (U 23) in Busan in the weight class up to 75 kg body weight. She referred Svetlana Podobedowa from Russia, who reached 262 kg (115-147), on the 2nd place. A few months later in Doha she also became the women's world champion in the weight class up to 75 kg with a fantastic duel of 285 kg (126-159). But she only won because of her significantly lower body weight in front of the Russian Natalja Sabolotnaja , who also came to 285 kg (130–155). The third place in this competition, Svetlana Podobedowa, achieved an excellent performance with 279 kg (124–155).

At the 2006 World Cup in Santo Domingo, Liu Chunhong was not in good shape. She managed only 111 kg in the snatch, with which she won a silver medal. In pushing she made three failed attempts, so that she remained without a duel. She was in much better shape at the 2007 World Cup in Chiang Mai / Thailand. She lifted there in the weight class up to 69 kg in a duel 271 kg (121-150), but had to admit defeat to the very well-disposed Russian Oksana Slivenko , who came to 276 kg (120-156).

In the years that followed, its shape collapsed significantly. She took part in the 2009 World Championships in Goyang / South Korea, reached only 245 kg (110-135) in the weight class up to 69 kg and thus only came in 4th place. After the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, where she won again with 242 kg (110-132), she therefore resigned.

doping

The series of post-doping tests carried out in 2016 on the stored samples from the 2008 Olympic Games revealed that Liu Chunhong had been doped at the time. She was disqualified and her first place was canceled.
