The Lizumer Hütte is a refuge of the Hall in Tirol section of the Austrian Alpine Club in the Tux Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol . The hut is located in the rear of the Wattental in the middle of the extensive ski touring and hiking area of the Wattentaler Lizum . Due to its location and size, the hut is also used for a wide variety of alpine courses and seminars.
history
The hut was built in 1912 by members of the Hall Alpine Club as a base for ski tours, and in 1932 it was expanded. In 1938/39 the German Reich expropriated the hut. After the war it became the property of the French occupation, before it was transferred to the Republic of Austria in 1955 , which it is still owned today. In 2006 the hut was completely renovated by the Hall section of the Alpine Club, equipped with climbing walls both inside and outside, and in 2007 it was awarded the hut seal of quality of the Austrian Alpine Club.
ways
The hut can be reached in two hours on foot from the parking lot at Camp Walchen. You can either walk on the military road on the western side of the valley or on the stone pine path on the opposite side of the valley. Access by mountain bike on the military road is not permitted.
As a route to the Lizumer Hütte there are also some crossings to the yoke, namely the Klammjoch from the Navistal , the Torjoch from the Tuxer Tal and the Grafensjoch from Weerberg . The transition from the Lizumer Hütte to the Glungezerhütte via the Navisjoch and the Rosenjoch takes seven to nine hours of walking. The transition to the Weidener Hut takes around five hours to walk.
The Lizumer Hütte is a base on some long-distance hiking trails, such as variant 02A of the Central Alpine Trail , further on the Via Alpina , the route Munich - Venice ( Traumpfad Munich-Venice ) or on the Tyrolean Eagle Walk .
summit
In addition to long-distance hiking trails and various crossings, numerous summit tours can be made from the hut, the highest peak in the area of the hut is the Lizumer Reckner ( 2886 m ). Other frequently climbed peaks are the Geier ( 2857 m ), a ski touring peak that is particularly popular in winter, the Lizumer Sonnenspitze ( 2831 m ), the Tarntaler Köpf ( 2757 m ), the Torwand ( 2771 m ) or the Torspitze ( 2663 m ).
