Ljubiša Simić , Serbian Cyrillic: Љубиша Симић (born February 1963 in Smederevo ) is a former Yugoslav - Serbian boxer.

In 1982 he was the first Yugoslav champion among adults, a title he was able to win several times and in different weight classes. He also won the 1981 Balkan Championships in Pula , the 1987 Balkan Championships in Pristina and the 1991 Mediterranean Games in Athens . He won bronze at the 1980 Balkan Championships in Pernik and silver at the 1983 Mediterranean Games in Casablanca .

He achieved his greatest success in June 1985 when he won the gold medal in bantamweight (up to 54 kg) at the 26th European Championships in Budapest . He prevailed against Pawel Madura, Czech Republic (5: 0), Klaus-Dieter Kirchstein , GDR (4: 1), Tibor Botoš, Hungary (4: 1) and Aleksandar Christow , Bulgaria (4: 1). He also won the bronze medal in bantamweight at the World Cups in 1985 in Seoul and 1987 in Belgrade .

In 1984 he took part in bantamweight at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and in 1988 in featherweight at the Summer Olympics in Seoul , but retired both times in the first fight against Mechak Kasarian, Soviet Union and Pedro Nolasco , Dominican Republic .

In 1993 he became a professional in Serbia and defeated, among others, Paul Kaoma from Zambia (record: 20-1) and the unbeaten Argentine Alberto Sicurella (23-0), which made him the 1995 WBC international lightweight champion. Although he lost the title in the first defense by knockout to the Italian Silvano Usini, he won the IBF Intercontinental Championship in 1996 against Oscar Palomino, Spain . After defending his title against Antonio Strabello, Italy, he lost the title in the rematch against Palomino. He finished his professional career in 2005 with a score of 13-3.
