Lloyd Pierce

Lloyd Pierce (born May 11, 1976 ) is an American basketball coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA .

career

Pierce played basketball at Yerba Buena High School in the Californian city of San Jose and from 1994 to 1998 at Santa Clara University . In 105 missions for the university team, the 1.90 meter tall player averaged 7.1 points per encounter. Between 1998 and 2002 Pierce played as a professional for clubs in Mexico, Australia, Germany and Turkey. For WiredMinds Tübingen he played 31 games in the basketball league during the 2001/02 season and scored an average of 16.3 points per game.

From 2002 Pierce was part of the supervisory staff at Santa Clara University, first as a manager, then as an assistant coach. He worked for Santa Clara until 2007. From 2007 to 2010 he worked as a player development coordinator for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA, in the 2010/11 season he was an assistant coach at the Golden State Warriors , from 2011 to 2013 he was an assistant coach on the staff of the Memphis Grizzlies and became 2013 assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers . He held this post until 2018.

In May 2018, he became the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks .
