Lohn is a locality and cadastral municipality in the market town of Schönbach in Lower Austria.

The village of Lohn is north of Schönbach on the L78 state road to Pehendorf at 740  m above sea level. A. and extends from this to the east. The wage mill , which lies between the Edelbach and the Lohnbach on the Kleiner Kamp and from where the settlement is accessed via a cul-de-sac, forms the western edge of the village . To the north of the village is the Lohnhöhe , which separates the village from the difficult-to-pass Lohnbach. The nature-protected Lohnbachfall , an underground stretch of the river Lohn, where the course of the river disappears completely under moss-covered granite blocks, is already on the border with KG Pehendorf.

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 48 building areas with 18,317 m² and 2 gardens on 700 m² in the cadastral municipality of Lohn , in 1989/1990 there were 46 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 125 and in 2009/2010 there were 92 buildings on 128 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is shaped by forestry. At the turn of the year 1979/1980, 246 hectares were used for agriculture and 343 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 215 hectares and 369 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 189 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 380 hectares. The average soil climate number of Lohn is 15 (as of 2010).
