The Trutnov střed – Teplice nad Metují railway is a regional railway connection in the Czech Republic that was originally built and operated as a state-guaranteed local railway Wekelsdorf – Parschnitz – Trautenau (Czech: Místní dráha Teplice – Poříčí – Trutnov ). It runs from Trutnov ( Trautenau ) via Adršpach ( Adersbach ) to Teplice nad Metují ( Wekelsdorf ).
According to a decree of the Czech government, the line has been classified as a regional railway ("regionální dráha") since December 20, 1995.
history
On February 20, 1906, the concession to build and operate a standard-gauge local train from the Wekelsdorf station on the Chotzen – Halbstadt line was granted to the privately owned Austro-Hungarian state railway company to Parschnitz . The company's share capital in 1916 totaled 1,091,400 crowns :

The line was opened on September 24, 1908. The operation was carried out by the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB) on behalf of the owners.
After the First World War, the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD took the place of the kkStB .
In 1935 the local railway Wekelsdorf – Parschnitz – Trautenau became the property of the ČSD.
After the Sudetenland became part of Germany in autumn 1938, the management of the line was transferred to the Deutsche Reichsbahn , Reichsbahndirektion Breslau . In the imperial course book the connection was now included as course book route 155g Wekelsdorf – Trautenau .
This was accompanied by the final nationalization and dissolution of the Wekelsdorf – Parschnitz – Trautenau local railway. The law of August 2, 1940 "concerning the takeover of railways in the Reichsgau Sudetenland and in the parts of the southern German territories incorporated into the Reichsgaue Oberdonau and Niederdonau" regulated a. a. the nationalization of nine local railways with a total length of 169.77 km, in which the Czechoslovak state had already held the majority of the shares.
After the end of the Second World War on May 9, 1945, the line came back to the ČSD.
On January 1, 1993, the line was transferred to the newly founded České dráhy (ČD) in the course of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia . Since 2003 it has been part of the network of the state infrastructure operator Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC).
The 2008 timetable recorded a total of eight pairs of trains on working days, which ran every two hours. Some of the trains were also tied to and from Meziměstí . During the tourist season in summer, additional trains ran between Teplice nad Metují and the tourist center Adršpach , which condensed the timetable there into an hourly offer.
From April 29, 2018, two direct pairs of trains will run from Wrocław or Wałbrzych to Adršpach on weekends and public holidays in the summer half-year.
Vehicle use
On account of the local railway Wekelsdorf – Parschnitz – Trautenau the kkStB procured four locomotives of the 178 series . The locomotives had the road numbers 178.58-60, 87.
Since the 1970s, tourist traffic has been handled primarily with the proven two-axle railcars of the ČSD series M 152.0 (today: 810). Occasionally, the “Regionova” sets of the ČD series 814 or other railcars are used.
With the restart of the Wałbrzych Głowny – Meziměstí line in 2018, two-part SA134 (PESA 218Md) railcars built between 2007 and 2012 are mostly used in double traction. These trains run from Teplice nad Metují only to Adršpach and back.
