Lorenz Bauer
Lorenz Georg Bauer (born October 16, 1880 in Unterpleichfeld near Würzburg , † November 1, 1969 there ) was a German Catholic theologian and university professor .

Family and education
Lorenz Bauer, the son of the farmer Johann Baptist Bauer and his wife Dorothea Theresia nee Sauer, attended the Royal Bavarian Latin School in Miltenberg , then the humanistic Wirsberg Gymnasium in Würzburg, before studying theology and philosophy from 1903 to 1907 at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg , where he is a member of the Catholic student association WKSt.V. Unitas Hetania became. In 1913 he received his doctorate as Dr. theol.
Lorenz Bauer died in 1969 at the age of 89 in his home town of Unterpleichfeld.
Professional career
Lorenz Bauer, ordained a priest on July 28, 1907 , was directly employed as a pastor , since 1911 as an assistant and lecturer at the Episcopal Clerical Seminar in Würzburg, and since 1914 as a chaplain . After Lorenz Bauer was appointed cathedral vicar in Würzburg in 1919 , he received an appointment for the extraordinary professorship of dogmatics and apologetics at the Philosophical-Theological University in Dillingen an der Donau in 1921 . 1930 promoted to full professor, he was forced to retire in 1943, reinstated in 1945, 1948 emeritus . He is one of the signatories of the German professors' commitment to Adolf Hitler .
The papal house prelate was appointed to devote himself in his publications to liturgy in particular .
