Lorenzo Cardinal Lauri (born October 15, 1864 in Rome , † October 8, 1941 ibid) was a Vatican diplomat and Curia Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Lorenzo Lauri studied at the Pontifical Roman Seminary in Rome, the subjects of Catholic theology and philosophy . He received on 4 June 1887, the sacrament of Holy Orders , and then worked as a lecturer and Offizial in Rome. Pope Benedict XV appointed him in 1917 titular Archbishop of Ephesus and Internuncio in Peru . The episcopal ordination received Lorenzo Lauri on 21 January 1917 by Cardinal Donato Raffaele Cardinal Sbarretti Tazza ; Co- consecrators were Curia Archbishop Vincenzo Sardi di Rivisondoli and Curia Bishop Americo Bevilacqua .

Lorenzo Lauri became Apostolic Nuncio in Poland in 1921 . Pope Pius XI took him on December 20, 1926 as a cardinal priest with the titular church of San Pancrazio in the cardinals college, a year later he appointed him cardinal major penitentiary . Lorenzo Cardinal Lauri attended the conclave of 1939 and in the same year became Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church.

He was buried in the Roman cemetery of Campo Verano .
