Titular Archdiocese of Ephesus

Ephesus ( Italian : Efeso ) is a titular archbishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .

It goes back to an earlier archbishopric in the eponymous city of Ephesus in what is now Turkey . Ephesus was the seat of the metropolitan of the ecclesiastical province of Ephesus, which was identical to the Roman province of Asia .
