Lorenzo Licitra

Lorenzo Licitra (born September 25, 1992 in Ragusa , Sicily ) is an Italian pop singer. He was best known for winning the 11th season of the talent show X Factor in 2017 .

Career

Licitra attended the language high school and then studied opera singing ( tenor ), first at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Nicolini in Piacenza , then at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan . In 2011 he performed at the Italian Consulate General in Istanbul on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Italian Republic . After another appearance in South Africa , he was seen for the first time on television in the third season of the casting show Io canto as a companion to twelve-year-old Rachele Amenta. In 2012 he performed at the invitation of the Italian Consulate in Philadelphia .

Eventually, the singer turned to pop music and released the album La mia terra in 2016 . In 2017 he reached the final of the talent show X Factor in Mara Maionchi's team , which he surprisingly won with the song In the Name of Love written by Fortunato Zampaglione .
