Lorenzo Perini (born July 22, 1994 in Milan ) is an Italian hurdler who specializes in the 110-meter distance .

Athletic career

Lorenzo Perini gained his first international experience in 2011 when he reached the semi-finals at the World Youth Championships near Lille and was eliminated there with 13.96 seconds. He also took part in the French sprint relay (1000 meters), but did not reach the final in 1: 56.83 minutes. He then won the European Youth Olympic Festival in Trabzon in 13.44 s and was disqualified in the final with the Italian 4 x 100 meter relay. The following year he reached the semi-finals at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona , where he was eliminated with 15.07 s, before winning the silver medal in 13.30 s at the 2013 European Junior Championships in Rieti . In 2014 he was fifth at the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Aubagne in 13.89 s and then qualified for the first time for the European Championships in Zurich , where he was eliminated in the first round with 13.77 s. The following year he won the bronze medal at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn in 13.86 s and in 2016 he reached the semifinals at the European Championships in Amsterdam , in which he was eliminated with 13.79 s.

In 2018 he won the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona in 13.49 s and then reached the semi-finals at the European Championships in Berlin , in which he was eliminated with 13.50 s. He was also eliminated from the semifinals at the 2019 European Indoor Championships in Glasgow with 7.70 s and then finished fourth in 13.50 s at the Summer Universiade in Naples . He also qualified for the first time for the World Championships in Doha , where he was eliminated with 13.70 s in the preliminary round.

In 2016, 2019 and 2020 Perini was the Italian indoor champion in the 60-meter hurdles.
