Lotte von Schaukal (also: Charlotte Schaukal , Lotte Schaukal , born October 12, 1908 in Vienna , † 1993 ) was an Austrian translator and editor .

Life

Lotte von Schaukal was the daughter of the writer Richard von Schaukal . In 1930 she did her doctorate at the University of Vienna with a thesis on ancient philology as a doctor of philosophy . She lived in Vienna , later in St. Johann ob Hohenburg in Styria , administered her father's estate and published his works in the 1960s . She also translated fiction and non-fiction from English , French and Dutch into German .
