Sankt Johann-Köppling is a former municipality with 1,871 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2018) in the judicial district or district of Voitsberg in Styria in Austria . On January 1, 2015, it was merged with the municipality of Söding as part of the Styrian municipal structural reform . The new municipality bears the name Söding-Sankt Johann .

history
Until January 31, 1948 the parish name was Sankt Johann ob Hohenburg . With the incorporation of Hausdorf on January 1, 1968, the size of the community was created until the end of 2014.

The municipal council , which was dissolved on December 31, 2014, consisted of 15 mandataries after the 2010 municipal council election and was composed as follows:
Until the municipality was dissolved, the mayor was Erwin Dirnberger (ÖVP), a member of the Styrian state parliament .
coat of arms
The municipal coat of arms was awarded with effect from September 1, 1978.
Blazon :
- “Tinned by red and silver, split in front of a pole-wise silver cross-stick, around which a banner is wrapped; at the back seven black plowshares, pointing upwards, in stacks of four and staggered by three. "
The shield received a tin cut because of the castle. The sign of John the Baptist is the cross staff with a banner. The seven plowshares symbolize the gathering of the seven communities into one.
