Since the beginning of 2015, Söding-Sankt Johann has been a municipality with 4105 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Voitsberg district in Styria .

The municipality of Söding-Sankt Johann emerged as part of the municipal structural reform in Styria from the municipalities of Söding and Sankt Johann-Köppling, which were dissolved at the end of 2014 .
