Geistthal-Södingberg has been a municipality in the Voitsberg district in Styria since the beginning of 2015 . The community Geistthal-Södingberg emerged as part of the structural reform in Styria from the communities Geistthal and Södingberg, which were dissolved at the end of 2014 .
Community structure
The municipality includes the following five localities (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):

- Geistthal (223)
- Kleinalpe (102)
- Soedingberg (787)
- Sonnleiten (116)
The community covers 52.6 km² and consists of four cadastral communities (area 2016):
- Eggartsberg (711.73 ha)
- Geistthal (951.57 ha)
- Södingberg (1,606.44 ha)
- Sonnleiten (852.06 ha)
