Entrance portal in the cemetery wall surrounding the church

The church is a Gothic building, which is surrounded by a walled cemetery with karner . At the entrance portal in the surrounding wall there is a relief that shows a bearded man and probably dates from the 16th century. A marble plaque with the Ten Commandments, presumably from the 17th century, is also located at the entrance portal.

There are stepped buttresses on the outer walls of the church. The three-storey church tower is presented on the western side of the church and has an eight-sided pointed spire . He wears a bell cast by Karl Feltl in 1862. The tower floors are separated from each other by a coffin cornice . On the bottom cornice there are two gargoyles depicting a person and an animal. The ogival entrance portal to the church is on the western side of the tower. It is shaped like another arched entrance portal on the south side of the church. Above the southern portal there is a coat of arms with a panther image and a band above it with the year 1538. Several Roman inscription stones from the first and second centuries are walled in throughout the church.

The nave is wider and higher than the choir , which is two steps higher than the nave . The ship is spanned by a ribbed vault resting on circular services in front of wall pillars . In the corners of the room there are console heads or busts . The tracery windows in the nave have two lanes and the one above the gallery , on the south side bears the year 1539. The round arched front arch is slightly drawn in. The choir has a three-eighth closure and is spanned by a ribbed vault, which rests on consoles. The keystones of the choir vault branch off a head of Christ and an angel with a banner.

To the north of the choir is the sacristy . To the north of the nave is a baroque , cross-vaulted baptistery. The three-axis gallery is located in the western part of the nave and rests on round pillars with leaf capitals . It jumps back in the central axis and is spanned by a cross vault on consoles with primitive heads . The protruding, straight, wooden gallery parapet dates from the beginning of the 18th century and is decorated with images of the apostles.

The high altar dates from around 1720 to 1730. The two side altars are brightly colored. The right side altar is dated to the year 1747 and its altarpiece shows the death of St. Francis Xavier . Its upper image depicts the mystical marriage of St. Catherine. The altarpiece on the left side altar shows the Lamentation of Christ and its upper image depicts St. Joseph. The pulpit was erected in the late 17th century and bears one designed by Balthasar Prandtstätter in the second quarter of the 18th century figure of the Good Shepherd on the sound cover . Furthermore, some of the angel figures were designed in the Prandtstätter church. The people's altar and the ambo were designed by Gustav Troger and installed in 2006.

The organ was built by Andreas Schwarz in 1727 and restored in 1829 and 1972/73. On the wings of the organ there are depictions of Saint Cecilia and King David . The eight-sided font from around 1700 is in the late Gothic style and has a Baroque top. On the front arch there is a late Gothic crucifix from around 1500. Three small hanging chandeliers in the church interior were made around the middle of the 19th century. There are also two baroque statues of Saints Joachim and Anna in the church , which date from the first half of the 18th century. The Stations of the Cross were painted by Alois Möstl in 1866 . There are also some stonemason marks in the church.

Karner

The Karner is a Romanesque , two-storey round building. In the eastern part of the upper floor there is a bay-like apse with a Gothic arched window. Inside there is a group of crosses made by Balthasar Prandtstätter with Maria Magdalena , the apostle Johannes and two thieves from the second quarter of the 18th century. A Roman inscription stone can be seen on the altar step. During restoration work in 2007, remains of baroque wall paintings were discovered. In the same year, a glass window designed by Kurt Zisler was installed.
