Louis Bonjour

Louis Bonjour (born February 8, 1823 in Blonay , † June 20, 1875 in Pully , entitled to live in Blonay) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

biography

After studying law in Lausanne , he licensed in 1847. He then worked from 1849 to 1866 as a lawyer in Vevey . From 1873 until his death he was a tax collector in the Vevey district .

Bonjour was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud from 1851 to 1866 and 1874 . In 1866 he was elected to the State Council of the canton of Vaud , where he headed the Justice and Police Department until 1873. From 1873 to 1875 he was a member of the Council of States .

As a politician on the left wing of liberalism , he was close to Jules Eytel . He was a member of the Belles-Lettres academic society in 1840 and was a Zofinger in 1842. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge "Espérance et Cordialité" and from 1864 to 1866 head of the Wine Brotherhood .
