action

Yann Kerbec was born on a flight and his mother was still bleeding to death on board. In retrospect, this was the beginning of Yann's fear of flying , which has not subsided 20 years later. His father, who recently died, bequeathed him the old car that Yann uses to stay mobile. From his childhood, in addition to numerous comic books that he collects, all he has left is his school friend Ludo, who lives right into the day, which in turn often ends with a fight. Ludo refuses to become an undertaker like his father. At a birthday party to which Ludo invited himself and took Yann with him, he met Charlotte. He falls in love with her and they spend three intimate weeks together before Charlotte flies to Australia. She asks him to visit her for Christmas, but Yann does not manage to get on the plane. The relationship with Charlotte breaks up and Yann has not come to terms with the loss even ten years later. Charlotte remains the unreachable woman of his life.

Yann's life went on anyway. He works as a safety expert for an airline and trains pilots in the flight simulator in dangerous situations in order to prevent future crashes. Ludo still lives into the day, but has been living in Yann's apartment for two years, where he was simply stranded after being kicked out from his girlfriend. Yann, who can never say no, accepted Ludo. One of the few rules that both of them adhere to is not to do anything with the neighbor. This rule is put to the test when relationship counselor Alice moves into the next apartment. While Yann and Alice have their own relationships, they develop sympathy for one another. Just as Yann has decided on her, he learns that Charlotte is back in town. Yann is electrified, especially since, according to Ludo's description, she has hardly changed. He writes her a love letter, but knows the moment he throws it in the mailbox that he feels more for Alice. He gets lighter fluid and throws a burning match in the mailbox and is convinced that he has burned all of the letters. Although he has bet Alice that she will have a new boyfriend within a few weeks of their last breakup, and she has objected, he invites her to dinner to show his love for her. They are close to their first kiss when Ludo comes home earlier than expected. Then the phone rings and Charlotte is delighted with Yann's love letter - while Yann organized the lighter fluid, the postman emptied the mailbox. Alice withdraws injured, especially since she knows that Yann can't say no and certainly not to Charlotte.

Charlotte and Yann become a couple. After a short time Alice moves out, Ludo also leaves and Charlotte also throws away the comic books. Because Yann cannot say no, the wedding will take place after a while. At work, on the other hand, Yann has to do with pilot Bruno Castelot, who fails all tests in the flight simulator. Once when he almost safely landed and Yann learns that the simulation was his last chance to get a pilot's license, he pretends that Bruno had mastered the flight. At the subsequent celebration in a café, Yann meets Alice again, who finds out about his upcoming wedding and says goodbye after a short time. Yann goes to Ludo and asks him to be his best man, but Ludo refuses. He knows that Yann doesn't actually love Charlotte and that Alice is very much in love with Yann. However, Alice went to Papeete out of sheer desperation . Yann realizes on the wedding day that he is about to make a mistake and he runs away from the altar. Ludo takes him to the airport and Yann actually flies to Papeete, even if the pilot of the plane is promptly Bruno Castelot. Shortly before landing, there were significant problems with the aircraft, so Bruno had Yann brought into the cockpit. When the copilot panics, Yann takes his place. Together with the calmly reacting Bruno, he can land the aircraft safely despite the failed engines. In Papeete, Yann finally meets Alice, who happily embraces him.
