Love You I Do is a song written by Siedah Garrett and Henry Krieger for the film Dreamgirls . It was sung by Jennifer Hudson in the film . Garret and Krieger were recognized as best song for film and television at the 2008 Grammy Awards for the R&B song. The song was named best film song in both the Academy Awards in 2007 as well as the Golden Globe Awards 2007 nominated.

On October 1, 2011, the single reached number 80 in the British charts, but could only last a week.

When she was hired for the film, Jennifer Hudson was only noticed as a participant in American Idol and had the dream of becoming known as a singer. Her portrayal of Effie White not only contributed to the nomination of the song, but also to the award of the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her career changed to acting as a result. The critics saw her performance with the song And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going as more impressive.
