Luc Merenda

Luc Merenda (born September 3, 1943 in Nogent-le-Roi in France ) is a French actor . Mostly he worked in Italian films , among which several police films made him known.

Life

Merenda's family comes from Cadro , near Lugano , but moved to Morocco . At the age of 13, Merenda moved to Paris. Merenda was an avid boxer and moved to New York when he was 24. He worked successfully as a photo model and began an acting career. The Brazilian-French co-production O Palácio dos Anjos , which was shown at the Cannes Festival , brought about the breakthrough. Shortly thereafter, he starred in the popular French agent film series OSS 117 . Merenda was now a star in French cinema.

He made his start in the Italian film business with the film by the director Luigi Scattini . This was followed by roles in several Sergio Martino films . Merenda played the tough cop in the Poliziottesco films more often . His roles were always positive and not shaped by vigilante justice like the portrayals of Maurizio Merli . His limited flexibility as an actor was often criticized. With the decline of Italian cinema from the early 1980s, its appearances also decreased.

In 1972 he married Rita Agostini, from whom he divorced after a few years. In 1979 he married the journalist Germana Monteverdi. Merenda has been running an antique shop in Paris for many years.
