Nonni and Manni was the ZDF - Christmas series in 1988 and was created as a co-production between Iceland , Norway and Germany on the basis of the book by the same name Jón Sveinsson . The director was Ágúst Guðmundsson . The film was shot near the old houses on the island of Flatey in Breiðafjörður .

action

The story takes place in Iceland in 1848. Nonni and Manni are living with their mother and grandmother on a farm when one day a stranger turns up with bad news of their father's death. Harald, the stranger's name, is quickly seen as the murderer of a rich farmer, but Nonni and Manni don't believe this and keep him hidden.

The German film and media rating FBW in Wiesbaden awarded the series the title valuable.
