Luciën Sloof (born June 7, 1990 in Waddinxveen ) is a Swedish-Dutch biathlete .

Luciën Sloof lives in Torsby in Sweden and studies at Umeå University . He starts for Bore Biathlon and, like his siblings Joël and Chardine, is trained by his father Eddy Sloof. He started biathlon in July 2002.

Sloof contested his first international races in 2007 as part of the European Junior Cup, later the IBU Cup . The first international championship was the 2008 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Ruhpolding , where he was 60th in the individual and 83rd in the sprint. A little later he also started in the junior races of the Biathlon European Championships 2008 in Nové Město na Moravě , in which the Dutchman was 68th of the individual, 54th of the sprint and 47th of the pursuit. Also in 2009 he competed at the Junior World Championships in Canmore and the junior competitions of the 2009 European Biathlon Championships in Ufa . In Canmore he finished 47th in the individual, 19 in the sprint and 21 in the pursuit, in Ufa he was 24th in the individual, 35th in the sprint and 41st in the pursuit. This was followed by the 2010 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Torsby , where Sloof finished 28th in the individual, 57th in the sprint and 47th in the pursuit. This was followed by another start at the junior races of the 2010 European Biathlon Championships in Otepää . Sloof was disqualified here 38th in the individual and in the sprint race. For the fourth time, the Dutchman took part in the Junior World Championships in Nové Město in 2011 . In the individual he came on the 45th place, in the sprint on the 66th place. The junior races of the Biathlon European Championships 2011 in Ridnaun , which were held a little later, were more successful . In individual and sprint he finished 19th and was 31st in the pursuit race. He was appointed to the men's team for the relay race.

Sloof has been taking part in the men's IBU Cup since the start of the 2008/09 season . Here he contested his first race, a fuel, in Idre and was 93rd. In 2010 , he reached the points for the first time in a sprint in Martell as 40th. It is also his best result so far in the second highest racing series in biathlon. Later in the season , the Dutchman made his debut in Ruhpolding in an individual race in the Biathlon World Cup , but did not finish the race. In the following sprint he was 96th of the sprint race. Sloof had his first appearance in an international championship in the men's field of the 2011 European championships. With his brother Joël, Herbert Cool and Maximilian Götzinger he was dismissed in the Dutch relay and ended up 16.
