Ludichrist was an American crossover band from Long Island , New York that was formed in 1984 and broke up in 1989.

history

The band was formed in 1984. After the release of two demos, the debut album Immaculate Deception was released in 1986 via Combat Records . Guest musicians were Roger Miret ( Agnostic Front ), Eddie Sutton ( Leeway ), John Connelly ( Nuclear Assault ) and Chris Notaro ( Crumbsuckers ). The cover of the album was designed by Ed Repka . On the next album Powertrip in 1988 the only remaining band members were singer Tommy Christ and guitarist Glen Cummings. Guitarist Paul Nieder, bassist Mike Walters and drummer Dave Miranda were new members on the album. Miranda left the band shortly after the album was released and was replaced by Tony Scaglione (Ex- Whiplash ). Scaglione had recently represented Dave Lombardo at Slayer . However, Scaglione also left the band in October 1988 to join Raging Slab . Then the band went on a European tour together with Bad Brains , Agnostic Front and Suicidal Tendencies . Ex-bassist Chuck Valle was scheduled to join Murphy's Law in 1989 . In the same year the band broke up, as Tommy Christ, Glenn Cummings and Paul Nieder decided to form the band Scatterbrain . In 1994, Chuck Valle was stabbed to death in California . In 2007 the band got back together for a one-off gig in New York City .

style

The band played a mix of hardcore punk and thrash metal, so the music is very reminiscent of bands like the Crumbsuckers .
