Ludovico Carducci Artenisio

Conte Ludovico Carducci Artenisio (born February 17, 1927 in Rome , † March 18, 2009 ) was an Italian diplomat and ambassador . He was general governor of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem .

family

Ludovico Carducci Artenisio came from the Florentine patrician family of the Carducci Artenisio in Taranto ( Palazzo Carducci Artenisio ). The family was given the title of nobility Conte by Victor Emmanuel III in 1905 . awarded. It came from the marriage of Achille Carducci Artenisio (1887–1962) and Rita Semeraro (* 1921).

Life

Carducci Artenisio studied at the University of Rome Law and in 1944 there to the Dr. iur. PhD. At the Pontifical Lateran University , he was in 1947 with a canonical work for Dr. iur. can. PhD.

In 1948 he entered the Italian diplomatic service . He worked in London in 1950/52 and at the Consulate General in New York in 1955/57 and at the Italian Embassy in Bucharest in 1958/60 . He was a member of the Italian delegation to the disarmament conference in Geneva and from 1962/67 Counselor at the Italian Mission to the United Nations . In 1970 he was Head of Cabinet of the Minister for Relations with Parliament.

From 1971 to 1975 Ludovico Carducci Artenisio was the Italian ambassador in Dakar for Senegal and Mauritania . In 1975 he moved to the post of Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Italy to UNESCO and in 1987 he took over the post of Ambassador to the Netherlands . In 1988 he was Commissioner of UNIRE.

Cardinal Grand Master Giuseppe Caprio appointed Ludovico Carducci Artenisio in 1991 to succeed Pier Luigi Parola as Governor General of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem and Cardinal Grand Master Carlo Furno as Governor General of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem in 2004 . He was a collar knight of the order.

He was married to Reine Carducci-Artenisio née. Grousset; there were three children from the marriage.
