Ludwig Ernst Huhn (born August 5, 1856 in Pegau , † January 11, 1933 in Gera ) was an independent politician and mayor of Gera from 1898 to 1918.

Life

Ernst Huhn studied political science and law and completed his studies with a doctorate to Dr. jur. from. He then worked in the judiciary and as a lawyer. In 1880 he entered the civil service and completed his legal traineeship in Pulsnitz and Chemnitz from 1882 to 1887 . From May 5, 1887, he was a city councilor and later mayor of Zwickau .

On October 29, 1898, Dr. Huhn was elected Lord Mayor of the city of Gera by the local council, appointed a secret councilor on November 8, 1909 and elected mayor for life on September 19, 1916 by the council members with 19 out of 25 possible votes. Regardless of this, he was released from his position as Lord Mayor by the Workers 'and Soldiers' Council on November 11, 1918 and retired a short time later by the local council.

From February 9, 1903 to September 28, 1907 and from October 27, 1907 to September 29, 1910 he was a member of the Reuss younger line of the Landtag .
