Viola Hahn

Viola Hahn (born May 4, 1956 in Gera ) is a non-party German local politician and was Lord Mayor of Gera from 2012 to 2018 .

Life

Viola Hahn completed her high school today Goethe-Gymnasium / Rutheneum in Gera and studied in Leipzig economics .

From 1978 she worked in Gera in the data center for agriculture, later in the field of business administration at the specialist body for agriculture and food at the district council . After the reunification she worked for a tax consultancy , from October 1990 in the Gera tax office as the main area manager for corporate income tax , later as a permanent representative of the head of department. From 1993 to 2002 she was head of the tax office in Greiz , then the tax office in Jena until September 2008 and the tax office in Gera from October 2008.

Hahn ran as an independent individual candidate for the mayoral election in Gera in 2012, supported by the CDU , FDP and the electoral association Arbeit für Gera . In the first ballot on April 22, 2012, Hahn received 47.6% of the votes; in the subsequent runoff on May 6, 2012, she was able to prevail against the previous incumbent Norbert Vornehm with 59.7% and 40.3% of the votes . Her six-year term began on July 1, 2012. She ran again in the local elections on April 15, 2018, but ended up only in third place with 20.6% of the votes cast and thus failed to make it into the necessary runoff election. There, the non-party Julian Vonarb prevailed against Dieter Laudenbach from the AfD . After the end of her term of office, Hahn was appointed head of the remuneration department in the Thuringian State Finance Directorate with the title of Senior Government Director.
