Ludwig Fellner

Ludwig Fellner (born July 3, 1917 in Dettenheim , † May 16, 2006 in Neustadt-Königsbach ) was a German landscape painter .

Life

Ludwig Fellner was born in 1917 in Dettenheim in Central Franconia , today incorporated into Weißenburg ( Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district ). After studying at the Free Academy Mannheim and the State Art School in Hamburg , he went on numerous study trips to Europe. During stays at the International Summer Academy for Fine Arts in Salzburg , he enjoyed lessons with Oskar Kokoschka and Marcello Mascherini , and he also attended the European Academy of Fine Arts in Luxembourg and the fresco school in Bozen .

Fellner, whose techniques were oil , watercolor and serigraphy , became known for his powerfully implemented landscape motifs from Scandinavia , France , England and the Mediterranean region . In the years after 1980 it was essentially limited to the Palatinate . He died in 2006 in his place of residence Königsbach , a district of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse .

Memberships

Fellner was a member of the Palatinate Artists Working Group , the South Palatinate Art Guild, the Society of Heinrich von Zügel Friends (Gildemeister 1971-79), the Buslat Artists' Guild, Schloss Bauschlott (Chairman 1962-64, organizer of the 1st Large Gild- Exhibition) and in the Palatinate Artists' Cooperative.

Works by Fellner are not only in private hands, but also owned by the Federal Republic of Germany , the states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg, as well as the galleries of Kaiserslautern and Stuttgart .
