Ludwig Liebl

Karl Ludwig Georg Liebl (born November 13, 1874 in Waldkirchen ; † February 11, 1940 in Ingolstadt ) was a German physician, National Socialist medical officer and newspaper publisher.

Life

Liebl was the son of the regional court assistant Georg Liebl and his wife Babette Widmann. He attended the royal humanistic grammar school in Passau , studied medicine in Munich and, after completing his doctorate, settled in Ingolstadt as a general practitioner and surgeon. As a specialist in gynecological diseases and obstetrics, he opened his own clinic and received the title of medical officer . Because of his charitable and cultural commitment to his birthplace Waldkirchen, he was made an honorary citizen there in 1922 . With the Waldkirchen folk poet of the same age, Emerenz MeierHe was linked by a long-lasting personal friendship, which did not, however, extend to political content: Liebl was a member of the NSDAP (" Old Fighter ") and on March 14, 1925, he led the re-establishment of the Ingolstadt local branch of the NSDAP. This was the third reestablishment of a local NSDAP structure in Germany after the party ban as a result of the failed Hitler putsch (after Munich and Landshut ). In 1927 he founded the Nazi campaign journal Der Donaubote . In 1929 he was on the Nazi Party in Nuremberg as the first chairman of he initiated the National Socialist German Medical Association elected (NSDÄB). He held this office until 1932. In addition, he temporarily headed the Ingolstadt local branch of the NSDÄB.

Liebl was a co-founder of the Ingolstadt Art and Concert Association and an honorary citizen of Ingolstadt from 1934. During the denazification , he was posthumously classified as a follower. He was married to Theres Hammerschmied since 1912 and had three children with her, Ludwig, Elin and Gertrud. In 1937 Elin married Liebls Verlagsleiter, the later Donaukurier publisher Wilhelm Reissmüller .
