Ludwig Thiele (architect)

Ludwig Thiele (born February 24, 1885 in Hanover ; † 1972 ) was a German architect .

  • 1919: Competition design for an administration building for the Sparkassen-Girozentrale Hannover (purchase for 500 marks )
  • 1922: “Helenenhof” residential group for employees of the Hackethal wire and cable works in Hanover, Vahrenwalder Straße 255, 257, 263, 265 and 265a (under monument protection )
  • 1931–1932: Association home of the German National Handicrafts Association (DHV) in Magdeburg , Otto-von-Guericke-Straße
  • 1933: Settler house on the outskirts of the city at the horticultural exhibition in Hanover 1933 (together with the municipal gardening directorate)
  • around 1935: Boathouses on the Maschsee in Hanover (together with Hans Nitzschke , Carl Bauer and Carl Helwig; replaced by new buildings)
  • 1936: Elementary school in Hanover-Kirchrode (design and implementation planning by Thiele, construction management by the Hanover City Building Office, Department I)
  • 1936–1938: Commercial building for the Capital Insurance Establishment of Hanover in Hanover, Landschaftstrasse 5 (together with Wilhelm Mackensen and Fritz Torno ; later used by the Sparkasse Hanover )
  • 1952: Magis department store in Hanover, Georgstraße 31/33 (together with Paul and Rudolf Brandes; in the tradition of the department store architecture of the 1920s; later used by H&M )
  • 1953: Mäntelhaus Kaiser office building in Hanover, Karmarschstrasse 27–29
