Luis Lehnert (born June 12, 2000 ) is a German Nordic combined athlete .
Career
Lehnert completed his first competitions as part of the Nordic Combined Alpine Cup in 2015. On his debut in Hinterzarten on September 26, 2015, he finished 37th in the Gundersen competition. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2017 in the US Soldier Hollow , he finished fifth in the Gundersen competition on the normal hill on January 31, 2017, followed by a cross-country distance of ten kilometers. Two days later, on February 2, 2017, he repeated this placement in the team competition together with Maximilian Pfordte , Martin Hahn and Vinzenz Geiger . A few weeks later, on February 18, 2017, he made his debut in the Continental Cup of Nordic Combined in Planica, Slovenia . The first start in the World Cup followed on December 16, 2017 in Ramsau with a 42nd place. On January 13, 2018 in Kuusamo, Finland , he achieved his first podium finish in the Continental Cup with third place in the mass start behind Sindre Ure Søtvik and Martin Fritz . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2018 he won the silver medal in the team competition together with Tim Kopp, Constantin Schnurr and Julian Schmid. A year later he was able to win the gold medal together with Simon Hüttel , David Mach and Julian Schmid in the team competition of the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2019 in Lahti .
On February 2, 2019, he achieved his first World Cup points in Klingenthal with a 23rd place. At the beginning of March, Lehnert won his first Continental Cup competition using the Gundersen method in Nischni Tagil, Russia, ahead of the Norwegians Sindre Ure Søtvik and Leif Torbjørn Næsvold .
