Luis María Pérez de Onraita

Luis María Pérez de Onraita Aguirre (born April 12, 1933 in Iruraiz-Gauna , Álava , Basque Country ; † April 3, 2015 in Malanje , Angola ) was a Spanish clergyman and archbishop of Malanje .

Life

Luis María Pérez de Onraita Aguirre was ordained a priest on August 11, 1957 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Malanje on December 15, 1995 . The Apostolic Delegate in Angola , Félix del Blanco Prieto , donated him episcopal ordination on March 10 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Miguel José Asurmendi Aramendia SDB , Bishop of Vitoria , and Eugénio Salessu , Bishop of Malanje.

After retirement Eugénio Salessus he followed him on 27 August 1998 as bishop of Malanje by. With the elevation to the archbishopric on April 12, 2011 he was by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed Archbishop of Malanje.

Pope Benedict XVI accepted his age-related resignation on May 19, 2012.
