Luise Maria Sommer
Luise Maria Sommer (* 16th February 1955 in Rothenthurn , Carinthia ) is an Austrian teacher , memory athlete and Keynote -Speakerin and author .
Life
Summer graduated from the University of Graz , the Teacher Training Program English Studies / Sport and the interpreter -Studies English . In October 1997 she did her dissertation with Gunter Iberer on "Alternative methods in foreign language teaching " at the University of Graz. Through Iberians, she came across the topic of mnemonics in 1993 and from then on devoted herself to the application and further development of these ancient memory techniques . From 1999 to 2003 she coached the Austrian memory sports junior team, among which was the memory world champion Astrid Plessl .

- 2003 World record in memorizing names and faces (151 names in 15 minutes, with 15 minutes playback time)
- 2002 World record in "Memorize levels" in "Guinness - The Show of Records", ARD
- 2004 Grandmaster of Memory (GMM) at the World Memory Championships in Manchester
- 2016 Senior World Memory Champion in the Senior Category at the World Memory Championship in Singapore , four new records in this category plus three personal bests (200 digits in 5 minutes of memorization, 1028 digits in 60 minutes, 1329 binary numbers in 30 minutes)
Book author
In 2003 "Gutes Gedächtnis made easy" was published by Hubert Krenn, a publishing house that developed into a long-seller and for which the author was awarded the " Golden Book " on April 23, 2009 by the then Science Minister Johannes Hahn . This book introduces the most important memory methods. It will u. a. also represent the thesis that age and good memory are definitely compatible if the brain is kept going with appropriate methods and the right attitude.
In August 2017 her latest book “Your memory can do more! Creative memory tips for everyday digital life ”from Verlag Fischer & Gann of the J. Kamphausen media group . Here it goes u. a. about the question of how one can challenge and thereby promote one's memory despite the many possibilities of making things easier with smartphones etc.
