Lukas Kircher

Lukas Kircher (born September 9, 1971 in Klagenfurt , Austria ) is an editorial designer (newspaper designer) and founder of the media agency C3 Creative Code and Content .

Life

After attending the master class in visual media design ( Vismed ) at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna from 1989 to 1993, Lukas Kircher worked as a design consultant for the daily newspaper Die Presse and was promoted to art director . In 1996 he moved to Germany as art director for the Berliner Zeitung . From 1999 he headed the graphics and development graphics of Stern magazine . In 2000 he founded the media agency KircherBurkhardt (formerly MediaGroup Berlin), from which, in 2014, the agency C3 Creative Code and Content emerged .

Act

Kircher has been named one of the most celebrated newspaper designers in Europe by the World Association of Newspapers and News Media . He became known to a wider public with the new design of the FAZ . His designs are quite polarizing and have been discussed controversially in the press and experts. In this context, the editor-in-chief of the SZ accused Kurt Kister Kircher of being a design shaman . Kister literally: The major relaunch with the assistance of an Austrian or Spanish design shaman often delights readers moderately and does little to increase subscription numbers . Lukas Kircher is a member of the Art Directors Club Germany, a jury member for the Lead Awards of the Akademie Bildsprache Foundation, a member of the Society for Newsdesign and a member of the "Newsdesign 2020" working group of the American Press Institute .

Prizes and awards

Together with Andreas, Kircher was awarded the first prize for the “News Management System” by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Technology in 1987 in the start-up competition - Start successfully with multimedia . Other awards include Astrid Awards (gold), Malofiej Awards (gold and silver) and Best of Corporate Publishing (gold).
